TESTIMONIAL...

"My father used to say "A dollars work for a dollars pay", but seems as though we've always gotten a little more than that here in Chariton.  The feeling of pride and accomplishment is special here, and results in true craftsmanship which focuses more on the impact of the job they are doing than the dollars in their pockets.  Couple the raw talent of the workforce with a group like the Lucas County Development Corp., and Chariton becomes an attractive first step for businesses looking for relocation and growth."

TESTIMONIAL...

"The Hy-Vee Distribution Center has been in Chariton since 1945.  We have had steady expansion and increases in business and distribution space over the years.  Lucas County, the City of Chariton and the Lucas County Development Corp.  have been partners every step of the way.  They have done everything possible to support a  thriving business in the community.

The Distribution Center employees come from approximately seven counties in southern Iowa, however, the main employment area comes from Chariton and Lucas County itself.  Realizing this, community leaders have been very aggressive in working with us at every level.

Most recently, an expansion of our frozen food distribution department and ice manufacturing facility serves as a great example of the community and Hy-Vee retail store, the Midwest Heritage Bank and the Distribution Center, all owned by Hy-Vee, we play a major role in the community.  It's great to know that we have a county and community that will be there with us every step of the way as we grow, expand and create new services for the retail stores we serve."
