Population

Lucas County is a nonmetropolitan country in southwest Iowa.  Lucas County is composed of five incorporated communities and their surrounding rural area.  From 1990 to 2000, Lucas County's population increased 3.9 percent.  The state's population increased by 5.4 percent over that period.
