Mission Statement

The mission of the Lucas County Development Corporation shall be to promote
a healthy, dynamic and economic development environment in Lucas County Iowa.  
It will accomplish its mission by:
 

Constantly monitoring the career expectations and goals of our Lucas County youth in an effort to retain a highter percentage of them in our community;

Enhancing the business support system and communicating its capabilities;

Recognizing the significance of existing industrial, commercial and agricultural businesses, identify employer needs and provide assistance for expansion and retention;

Recruiting diversified industries and businesses;

Developing and maintaining sites and buildings to accommodate the needs of new and expanding industries and businesses;

Promoting and assisting in the development of new business;

Targeting higher paying jobs to increase the spending capacity of those employed;

Working towards improving the quality and availability of all types of housing for its residents; and 

Promoting Chariton and Lucas County assets and quality of life its residents enjoy.
