Lucas County Tourism 3rd Dave McGlothen Annual Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast

The 3rd Annual Fly-in breakfast with the former Jaycee members serving breakfast of pancakes, sausage, coffee, milk, and orange juice was held at the Chariton Municipal Airport on Saturday, June 18th.  The event was organized by Tourism member Deb Storm , with the assistance of all the Tourism members.  The Fly-In Breakfast is in memory of Dave McGlothen who was the organizer of the 1st Fly-in Breakfast and worked to improve the airport.

The weather did not cooperate at first as it was cloudy and looked like rain, but did turn out to be a good day.  The weather did not cooperate for the Yellow Jacket Balloon team to launch, so visitors were treated to a close up learning experience about the excitement of this kind of aviation experience. Steve Scott provided information on UFOs, including early history, classic case studies, sighting reports, and other great conversation starters.   Also, a big thank you to Margaret Yocom's middle School Soar Classes who decorated the Styrofoam airplanes.

Below are some photos of the event.
